Yes. Sage is optional. Everything else in Stillmonk works without it: your day count, the trail, the daily check-in, urge support, the Library and this community.
What Sage is
Sage is an AI guide on the trail. You can talk to it about an urge, a hard evening or a plan for tomorrow. It is AI companionship, not medical or crisis care, and it is not a person.
What happens when you send a message
Your message is saved in your account, and a limited recent part of the conversation is sent to an AI model provider to write the reply. Your email, your profile and the people you added for Reach out are not deliberately included, but anything you write in the conversation may be. So leave out names and contact details.
The details are in the privacy policy at stillmonk.io/privacy, under Sage and AI processing.
If you need a person
Sage cannot call anyone for you. If you are in danger, tap Get help now at the top of Sage. It opens Reach out, with the crisis line and the people you added. You can also contact your local emergency number.
If you are ever unsure whether something is for Sage or for a person: when you might be in danger, it is always a person. Get help now is at the top of every Sage conversation.
