Reach out is part of urge support: tap I feel an urge, then Reach out. Get help now at the top of Sage opens it too. It shows two kinds of help: the people you added yourself, and a crisis line for where you are.
Your people
You can add up to three people you trust in Settings (Your climb, then Your people), or inside Reach out with Add someone who steadies you. Reach out lists them, each with Call and Text, which open your own phone and messages apps. Stillmonk never contacts them, and they are never shown in the community.
If you are not sure who to add, choose someone you could send one ordinary message to. They do not need to know why you added them.
The crisis line
The app picks the line on your phone, from your phone's own settings:
•
Time zone first. Many people outside the US run their phone in English (US), so the time zone says more about where you are than the language does.
•
Then your region setting, if the time zone does not say.
•
Only lines we have checked. A line is listed only after we confirmed it on the line's own site, a government or health service page, or Find A Helpline, and the list keeps the date each line was checked.
•
No checked line for your region? You see Find A Helpline instead, which lists crisis lines in many countries, plus your local emergency number when we know it.
The app does not use your location for this, and nothing is sent to us to make the choice.
Travelling, or the wrong line?
If the line shown is not right for where you are, findahelpline.com lets you search by country. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
If you see a line that is wrong or out of date, please tell us through Contact support in Settings, so we can check it and correct the list.
