How we keep this place safe

This community is for people doing something hard, often in private. Here is how we look after it.

Who moderates

The Stillmonk Team moderates the community. Posts and replies from the team carry the TEAM badge, so you always know who is speaking for Stillmonk. There is more in Meet the Stillmonk Team, in Welcome & Introductions.

What we look at first

•
Safety reports, and posts with words that may signal a crisis. Those are flagged automatically and sit at the top of the team's report queue.
•
Then other reports, newest first.
We are a small team, and we are not online around the clock. We may not see a post straight away.

What we remove, and why

We hide or remove posts and comments that:
•
go into graphic detail, which can pull someone else back,
•
are unkind or shaming toward another person,
•
share private information, someone else's or your own,
•
sell something, or are spam,
•
are off topic for this community.
Links, emails and phone numbers cannot be posted at all. That keeps out spam, and it keeps your contact details off a public page.
When we hide a post, its author is told why, and can still see and edit it. We explain; we do not shame. If someone keeps breaking the guidelines, we can pause their posting for a while.

Reports are private

Every post and comment has a Report option. The person you report is never told who reported them. Reports go to the team's queue. We are a small team, so a report may wait until someone is online.

This is not a crisis line

We are not a crisis service, and we may not see a post straight away. If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency number now. In the app, tap I feel an urge, then Reach out, for the crisis line and the people you added. Wherever you are, findahelpline.com lists crisis lines in many countries.
